practical tips for travellers

where to eat

No, Americans do not only eat hamburgers with fries and a coke! Why not trying a hot dog or a slice of pizza? We're only pulling your leg… there's a wide variety of cuisines available throughout the country, you'd be surprised at what you'll discover…

The United States has a wide range of culinary experiences. The 'traditional' American restaurants with hamburgers and steaks on the menu is not the only type of restaurant you will find.

The ethnic restaurants will enable you to experience America's 'melting pot' and they are usually quite inexpensive. If you are looking for a specific restaurant, ask your hotel's concierge or consult specialized guides. Alternatively a quick stop at a fast food restaurant is practical, inexpensive, very American and children love it. Breakfast in the United States is quite an experience with orange juice (OJ), eggs, sausages, bacon, bagels, pancakes with syrup, oatmeal, muffins and lots of coffee. Numerous breakfast chains will offer a full American breakfast for $3 to $5.
